New Zone New knowledge

Hey friends and family!

This week has had quite the change. I've been transferred to the British Isles, Australia, New Zealand Zone in the Family History Library. This is a very specialized zone, so there's a lot of specialized training. That's pretty much what I've been working on all week. I've been passed off for England research, it being the easiest, and am currently working on Scotland training.

Luckily we've had a bit of diversity in our tasks. We've also been helping assist classes on basic FamilySearch utilization. We're mostly just helping make sure everybody's on the same page so they don't get left behind during the lesson. I also have a new companion, Elder Rich. He's a lot of fun, and we've had quite a bit of success together.  My new companion's great! We get along really well, and we've been able to be really successful in everything we've been trying to accomplish. The British zone is a pretty specialized zone so for our first two weeks we are pretty much going through some pretty intense training. We've passed off our English training, and are currently working on Scottish. After that we're going to have to pass of the hardest one in the zone, Irish. We've also had to start assisting some classes on intermediate FamilySearch usage, making sure they are all staying caught up as the teacher talks.

We also had Young Elder Conference yesterday morning, so we got to hear a lot of stories that showed a bit more of the humorous side of Joseph Smith which was a lot of fun.

We've also had some fun stuff with my new district. On Saturday night we went to a more hippy part of town for one reason, ice cream. Because of the area it was in it was dairy-free. However, all the Elder's had highly recommended it and it wasn't that bad.

There was a pretty interesting development that the mission had been working on for years. the Church Office Building Wellness Center is now open to missionaries. They've been working on that for a long time, and my companion and I were able to go last Monday.

Hope you all have an amazing week!

From,
Elder Hall
