Hey Friends and Family!
As the title probably suggests, this week has been a week of changes. Sunday Elder Hardman and I had our final week at St. Josephs Villa. It's definitely been a great experience serving the residents for the past six weeks. I probably will not be assigned again given how soon my release date is. Monday we had the FHD Young Elder appreciation dinner. We were given a lot of free pizza and a shirt. I know, tough life.
Beyond that, up until Tuesday afternoon it was business as usual. International Services has still been pretty slow. But not slower than is to be expected in the winter. Tuesday though was Transfers. For the first time in my mission I have been moved to a new area. Having now spent 20 months in the Family History Library, it's been a pretty big shift. I am now in the Church History Library Area, in the Church History- Collections zone. I have a new companion, his name is Elder Mitchell. He was just transferred from working full time on the Mission History Project into the zone. As well as a new district of four. The other companionship has already been serving in collections for a bit. Pictures of companion and district forthcoming.
The Collections zone is known in the mission to be at it's busiest from mid-February to mid-April. This being from the massive amounts of Annual Histories coming in from all over the world. This is usually when the zone receives it's own district, as opposed to just a companionship. Strangely enough, at about the exact same time as the transfers happened, the Church History Department made the decision to no longer put Annual Histories through most of the processes they've typically been going through in the past. This cuts the work load down drastically. It's always comforting the first thing you here when arriving in the zone is there's basically no more work to do. At least in that specific function. About a day later, we were called in to a different Acquisition Team's leader's office. Ever since the decision was made, our zone leader has been searching for a different idea. We discussed a new project that they wanted my new companion and I to be a part of. The various acquisition personnel around the world have to have access to certain programs. To obtain those they have to go through quite a few processes. Essentially, they want us to make something that allows them to track the ins and outs of people, accounts, and stages in those processes. This would involve pretty high clearance and would be quite involved. If it happens, It will probably be the last project of my mission.

In the mean time we've been given another project to work on by our current supervisor. Yesterday, we also found out that the tool to log annual histories hasn't been changed to mark the discontinued processes as non-required. So, we're going to have to keep doing them until they fix it. Could be a few days, or a few weeks. This in now way negates the previous option. The other companionship could handle it easily. However, we're going to proceed with the account management thing on Monday.
I hope you all have a great week!
