Another Good Week

Hey Friends and Family,

This week has been really good. Honestly, they just seem to fly by faster and faster. Zone has been really really busy. We've had lot's of walk ins. On top of two or more conventions being in town. It's been a lot of fun helping out with various kinds of research.

On top of that we had a Hail and Farewell dinner on Monday that was a lot of fun. As well as watching the face to face as a mission. As well, as the devotional with President Nelson.

Anyway, things have been pretty routine beyond that. But, man are they busy. Tons of people to help, and I'm starting to make headway on my own family research. I've managed to find a part of the family tree to work on. A lot of what we have on our direct line is either crazy hard, or we already know enough about them that any work done is just an addition. However, I was looking through some in-laws. I found out that Great-Grandma Helen's third husband Ted's family history has never been done! There weren't even his parents in there. As I've started to research it, nothing has been put in FamilySearch before on this part of the family! Even with his father, I'm only back in the 1880's.

It's been really interesting though. Apparently his father was part of a movement from Russia to Argentina. A lot of Russian Jews around his time formed colonies in Argentina due to Argentina's open door immigration policy, in order to escape poverty. They were known as Russos  or "Russians". A lot of them became Guachos  or "Cowboys". His father was a young man in one of those colonies and actually traveled twice between Argentina and the USA.

I hope you all have a great week!

From,
Elder Hall
