New Transfer, New Changes

Hey friends and family!

This week has had a lot of fun stuff. However, outside of one major event it was pretty standard. The title really gave it away, Transfers! This one has been really interesting. I mean every transfer is interesting. But, this one had some pretty big applications around my companion and mine's area.

I still have the same Companion, Zone, and P-day. The first big change however, is that I am no longer the District Leader over the Deaf Services Zone. What they did, is they transferred an Elder from Family History Library Services into the Zone. Thus, turning it into two Young Elder Companionships instead of one Trio. Then the second change. One of the Elders that was in my District was made a District Leader over the Elders in the Deaf Services Zone. We are all super excited for him. Along with him being made a District Leader, five other Elder's were made District Leaders. That means that five District Leaders were released. You're probably noticing the extra person. I'll get to that in a second. We also had a new companionship added to U.S./Canada Services making us now four in number, with me still as the District Leader over us. We also all moved. Everyone in my previous District got moving notices as well as my current one. We all moved into a newly refurbished four-man apartment. So, that all of us in the Zone live together as well. After 5-months of living in two-man apartments, it actually feels pretty good to be back in a larger one. Now, the two new Elders in our district. One is named Elder Wintersteen. He is a brand new Greenie and has quite a bit of potential. He is being trained by an Elder Hartner. Elder Hartner has been out for a year and eight months. He actually just got released from Leadership this transfer from being a YETL (Young Elder Training Leader). He has a lot of experience and is a lot of fun to live with. That's where the extra spot in leadership comes in. One of the District Leaders was made a YETL to fill in Elder Hartner's place. So, it's been a pretty interesting Transfer.

Our District actually had a really good end to the Transfer. On Sunday night we were trying to figure out something we could do together, and I brought up the Brigham Young Grave Site up in the Avenues. I really love that little park. It's quite secluded, peaceful, and the monuments and graves there are very spiritual. We walked through and looked at the different graves of Brigham Young and his family. Then kind of sat and meditated for a bit. As we were walking out, we sung "Come, Come Ye Saints" from the sheet music engraved in one of the monuments. We all really loved it and it was a very spiritual experience before we went in different directions after Transfers.
Lot's of the time this week has really been spent adjusting and training the new Elders. It's been a lot of fun, and I feel there's a very good prospective for the future.
That's it for this week!

From,
Elder Hall
