Service, Labor Day, and Leadership Changes
Hey friends and family!
Things have been going on pretty smoothly in British Services. We've been pretty busy, and is keeping our hands full more than usual. I've been able to help quite a few patrons, and deal with some maintenance issues around the zone. I've also been cracking done on descendancy research on a certain line and have found many names.
In the hours when not in British Services, my companion and I have been doing some service around the mission. Delivering food to sick or struggling Elders, and hanging out with them. It has really helped fill out our time and make it more meaningful.
On Monday, British services was closed. So, we got to study and hang out. We also were able to watch the second The Work and the Glory movie. If you remember, we watched the first one on Pioneer day, and the second was just as, if not more awesome.
On Tuesday morning, we also had a change in the Mission Presidency. President Thornock who was the Second Counselor to the Mission President has finished his mission and has been released. We now have President Allred in the position. He's a really cool guy, I think he'll do an amazing job.
The new Saints: The Standard of Truth book, and the series in general, has really been ramping up in excitement in the mission and most of the Elders were eager to get their hands on it. I preordered my copy a few weeks ago, and picked it up on Tuesday morning, as soon as it hit the shelves. Honestly, it is a truly amazing book and brilliantly written. It is honestly one of the best books I've read, outside the standard works, produced by the church. It is truly phenomenal.
Catch you guys in the next one!
