Food, Temple & Transfers

Hey friends and family!

It's been an interesting past week. There's been some changes and quite a few events that I'd like to highlight.

Last Thursday we had one of the Senior Sisters leaving our zone. So, considering we are British Services, it appears that that warrants a British style potluck. There were a good amount of people signed up to bring things. However, the amount of food that appeared in the back seemed to almost three times as much as the list warranted. We were so stuffed that morning, I don't think we ate anything till the next day.

Every month the mission president has the Young Elders go on a mission temple trip. However, for some reason, this month we had two temple trips, within two days. My companion can't do an Endowment session for medical reasons, so we got a lot of other ordinances done. On Friday morning we did Baptisms, which the baptistry was completely empty for. We then did confirmations, initiatory, and then sat in the Celestial room for a bit. We then after having been there for ten minutes, were asked by some temple workers to witness a sealing session, as they were short handed. On Saturday, the mission went again to do Baptisms, Confirmations, and Initiatory. However, we arrived at the temple a bit early. We witnessed some baptisms till the rest of the mission arrived, completed some baptisms, confirmations, initiatory, and then after a half-hour in the Celestial room we were yet again asked to witness some sealings. Apparently within those two days, we had spent eleven-and-a-half hours in the temple.

On Tuesday we had transfer conference. I still have the same companion and zone. However, we have a different preparation day. So, for this transfer I'll be emailing every Friday. We also were moved to a different apartment, with a different district. So, that's been pretty interesting.  The new apartment my companion and I had to move into is pretty worn down. Two months ago there were two Elders who knew now hygiene. We knew the Elders who had to move into it, and apparently it looked like the pit. The bathtub black, with mold, stains, and rust all over the apartment. They did a lot of cleaning in the month they lived there, and when we moved in it still needed some work. So, we have been doing a lot of cleaning, and it isn't that bad anymore. We still need to have the building services come in and do some piping, drywall, and carpet repairs, of whom we've already notified. But it is breathable to live in now, so everything is going along okay. This is some of the photos of what it looks like after our cleaning.

I hope you all have a great week, and I'll write you on the next one.

from,
Elder Hall
